    Who says romance is dead.

    Tiz my birthday on the 18th of this month, the big three zero. I've been working my little behind off organising myself a party at home, getting all the xmas pressies bought, wrapped & out of the way so i have plenty of time for organising, I've written all the xmas cards myself, ordered all the xmas dinner food ready in advance, organised the two sets of guests that will be staying with us from the day before b'day (one set for 4 nights, the other for 12!), booked a table for guests and us for a lovely meal the night before the party, house nearly sorted, xmas decorations still to put up and i'm pooped already!

    However, all is fine because husband has just said to me "you need to be packed by Thursday night as we're going for a long weekend away"

    HURRAH! i'm so excited - i have no idea where, its a complete suprise!! (however, i now have less time to get everything finalised

                      How sweet, can we swop. My husbands idea of romance is asking whether he has to buy me two cards because my birthday is Valentines day!

                        My OH's birthday is valentines day as well but he doesn't agree with cards. Thinks they're a waste of money for something that'll probably end up in the bin!

                          OH made the mistake the first year we lived together of telling me he hadn't got me anything for Christmas because my "Birthday pressie is covering Christmas too" - (My birthday is exactly a week before xmas). He won't make that mistake again believe me!! Its not that i expect a huge pressie from him, just something to show he's put a little thought & effort into it.

                          But bless him, he still hasn't given me any clues to where we are going yet.

                            I'm back!

                            Just returned from my suprise weekend away to.......

                            Edinburgh!

                            We have talked about going for a couple of years now & never seemed to get round to oganising it. We had a lovely long weekend in the the poshest of posh hotels, did a spot of shopping, sightseeing, relaxed in the hotel spa, ate, ate, ate & relaxed. An old friend from school who lives in Edinburgh was in on the suprise too and we got to spend a lot of time together over the weekend too.

                            The weather was pants, however it didn't put a dampner on it at all.
