I had a good friend who was a tenant farmer in Normandy. he kept all the small animals that could be taken to market. The milk from his 12 cows went twice daily to the local Camembert factory. He made his own cider and in turn Calvados. he also pickled his fruits in Calvados to make wondeful liqueurs. Unfortunately, something to do with his diet, he had a triple bypass at the age of 65 and was banned from alcohol henceforth. C'est la Vie!!!

I would buy a house with or build a Victorian Walled Garden.

Nog i watched a programme about victorian walled garden, the wall had fires in it, to warm the bricks for exotic fruits growing against it, i never realised that ! my father in law next door has a huge greenhouse that was there 30 years ago when the moved in and it has some sort of heating system in it, x

They are great. the walls are usually pointed NSEW and differant things are grown on diferant walls cost the conditions change.

I was made redundant in april , i spend most of my time in the garden , the other i spend wondering what i'd do with a few million, i think i'd do a 'VIV NICOLL' and SPEND, SPEND, SPEND.

It'll never happen to me. I don't do the lottery. I like to be guaranteed something back if I spend a pound!

However, I do spend as long as I want in the garden, lottie and grapevine. There's something to be said for retirement!

I'd do a HFW I think. Nice little cottage in the sticks with a couple of fields a load of hens, some pigs, a huge plot and a polytunnel. Then spend my days pottering about.

I might even take the wife and kids

I'd buy the next plot over from our place in Spain (someone was supposed to be doing it up, but it has been left half-done for the last 2 years), install my daughter and SiL there, so we could grow things, and still go away sometimes, and they'd look after it, and when they wanted to go away we'd look after their bit (including all the fancy poultry), then get a really small place in UK to come back to when things are impossibly hot in Spain, but mostly stay out there and grow things!

                      When I win the lottery:
I would change nothing except my car. The rest of it would go to making sure my kids and family were happy.

Having had a really bad day at school... When I win the lottery I'm going to be completely honest to everyone, the headteacher, the other staff, the parents and the pupils and also other miscellaneous people we deal with such as social workers and then see how long it took to get fired...
