  • what would you use this for?

Did you see these for sale around Christmas time? I did, and I wondered who would buy one.
    Now I know.
My best friend, and she gave it to me for Christmas!
It's a massive glass drinks dispenser complete with removable lid and tap.
    Every home should have one!
At new year it held two bottles of champagne and a bottle of orange juice and that barely covered the bottom!
    What was she thinking?
Obviously I won't throw it away but I was trying to find a use for it which wouldn't leave me permanently inebriated! I'm not a big drinker by the way!
Has anybody made a bottle garden? Would I have to keep the lid on? Perhaps remove the tap? Any ideas, recommendations or suggestions really would be appreciated

Comfrey tea? At least you could get your watering can under the tap.

Grow a lot of beetroot then you could use it to dispense summer borsch.

Massive amounts of skin cream for when the elements start with the drying out process.

You could even use it as a biscuit jar

It does not look that big in the photo
Americans have them on their kitchen windowsills with iced tea (maybe i have seen too many films), i cannot stand the stuff but it does look refreshing.

Put your small change in it and, when its full, buy more seeds.

Nettle tea then buy another one for medicinal purposes you understand, then that could be a comfrey tea pot.

I have one of those...so does my brother and lots of my friends.

In the summer you fill it with lots of ice and the drink of your choice (pimms, lemonade with lime, sangria, fruit juice) and some pretty fruit.
Guests can then help themselves to ice cold drinks and the fruit or half melted ice cubes float to the top rather than plopping into your glass and splashing on your party clothes because the tap is so low down and any sediment from the fruit remains below tap level so no sludgy bottoms in glasses.

                        I really like them.

Send it to me - I was going to buy one for p!mm$ in the summer, but with a lack of cupboard space here, there's nowhere safe to keep it the rest of the year, so I didn't. Now I wish I had, but I'm skint!

I was going to suggest the same as VC. Or have a wormery in there - Am I right in thinking you'd have to leave the seal off the lid though?
