  • What plants have you been buying lately?

I got a sedum, frosted fire today. I quite fancy the red one but for now I think I will leave it. I also bought the last of the hebes the other day.
I didnt know this time of year would have such interesting plants.

Apparently there are 6 varieties, so future missions will be to find yellow, orange & purple flowering plants

Don't really buy plants much, cheaper from seed

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Not allowed to buy plants, on a very strict budget till February. Have been sneaking the odd packet of seeds out of food shopping money though. After all they will be for food eventually !

I boasted my points and got some bearded irises, a nectarine, a kiwi berry and a heuchera. It is rare for me to 'buy' proper plants

I dunno why but I find that I just dont have time or patience for flowers/shrubs unless I can just sow them and they grow and reseed that same year without any interfearence. I dunno if its due to being at work and finding it hard enough keeping up with my veg and weeds.

I always look after edibles much better, think it's because they're of greater value to me

Manly just seeds for me also, but i will by a Poinsettia or 2 or 3 or 4, we do not do a xmas tree and i have visitors this year so will be nice to have a couple around. They are big in Spain and everyone has them everywhere.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Our local GC has a mahoosive area where plants are sold usually at half price. They are bandaged, broken and buckled but I always like a challenge (or maybe I'm just a tight git!)
Sometimes its the only area i visit in the GC and if nothing looks forlorn enough to take my fancy, I just walk out.
Recently I've picked up a blood red heuchera, a pink rose bush, a goji berry, a grapevine and another perennial who's name i couldn't pronounce or remember.
