  • What gardening things are on your Santa List?

I have asked Santa for a decent pair of secateurs, my birthday is on Christmas Eve so may be cheeky and ask for something else to go with them. What about you?

It's only September, won't be asking for anything until I'm asked and am hoping that will be in December!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

You know what happens to Grapes who mention the C word too early....don't you?

Luckily, you got away with it as you popped a Birthday in there.

I'm still after a polytunnel [or contributions towards] for my birthday, which is 4 weeks away. Christmas.....sheesh - I'll think about it in about 8 weeks time.

Right - I'm after a load of horse poo! I have empty compost bins, complete with duvets, waiting - do I have any stables nearby willing to donate?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I want black chilli seeds and white chilli seeds - pathetic I know I'm colour co-ordinating my chilli - so I've got 2 mini purples (pretty in purple and venezuelan purple, both from Real Seeds), choc, peach and orange habs, my rude chiili which I'll hide behind the habs and finally ring of fire, twilight, Iranian Red (looks like Christmas baubles) and Gelbe Kirschen (which should be paired with Lemon Drop but I dropped my Lemon Drops) In fact I want 3 chilli seeds black, white and lemon drop

Having gardened for more years than some of you have been alive () I've got most of the gear I want. However, I saw some really girly hand fork and trowel sets with roses or pansies on them, all shiny. I don't know how they're made. I really fancy a set of those!

I've also just about made up my mind to buy myself a Kelly Kettle. (google them) in the small size. Our site is too small to have sheds and I know I could go home for a brew, it's only 200 yds, but it interrupts your flow. So I could brew up on the plot. It would also come in handy for days out in the country with Himself. We have a camping stove but it's surely more green to use twigs and pine cones for your fuel than a gas cannister? By buying it for myself I don't have to be good!
