    as in F1 seeds?

    we were discussing this at the weekend on the lottie whilst pouring over some seed catalogues and no-one there knew the answer.......
    The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...

    Filial. It means son or daughter.

          F1 is the first filial generation. F2 is - the second! Etc.
          Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
