  • What to do with a few hours spare, a sewing machine and old fabric.

Well I made a lovely quilted/lined dog coat for my little doggy An old quilted pillow cover from the charity shop, a suede skirt from a car boot and an old wool skirt from my wardrobe. Cost about £1 even better.

    Yay hey!

I had some gift vouchers, so I went up town and blew another few quid on fabric: half price Amy Butler that I've been coveting for months

I tried to make the guinea pigs some coats out of socks, but they kept wriggling out of them.

I made a basic pattern and thn just adapted it to fit. If you can get a cheap dog coat from poundland etc just enlarge or reduce accordingly yo make your pattern. I used the quilted pillow as the inside and used my wool skirt for the top (well used the frills off the bottom of it) and then used the lining of the skirt for the underneath. I cut out suede applique hearts to decorate the top.

Here's a couple, although Soo-Ki is not happy with the amount of times I've tried it on her and not taken her for a walk.

Just back, she's filthy as always, bath tomorrow. She is like a show dog for the first 2 hours after bathing and blow drying her. Looks very tatty in the pics at the mo. She was destined to be a show dog before I bought her
