My fabulous crafters paid more than your average ticket price.
Everyone has been working furiously to make extra stock as this was going to be so big. Lots of people have booked into hotels etc which was an extra expense and is, in most cases, lost. Everyone was really looking forward to Tidworth, it was the highlight of our fair calender this year.
Even my parents (pensioners) who were coming to help me, have lost two nights' hotel expenses and the money they have paid out for cattery/kennels whilst they are away.
I can't say publicly how much money we have lost, but it's a serious serious amount. My crafters have been lovely, their words of support have reduced me to tears.....all bar two who were unbelievably rude. Always the rough with the smooth, I guess.
It's all very shocking. I was speaking to the Tidworth chaps just a few days ago and they didn't utter a word to me about this catastrophic disaster. Can't help but feel I could have saved my crafters a lot of stress if they'd said something.
Sadly, they don't have room for 40+ crafters and a 45 metre long marquee. They can accommodate some of my crafters in with their trade stands but it would cost lots of spondoolies, and my crafters have just lost £40 (or more) each.
I'm thankful it's not up to me to pay the marquee chaps.....they have to stand in line too.
I am still absolutely gutted. It's shocking just how bad this recession is, despite Mr Brown's words to the opposite.
