  • Were going for it!

After lots of doubts about my job security, which now thankfully seems as secure as its going to get in the current climate we are now in a position to either:-

    1) Sell a property we inherited last year, do the sensible thing and down scale the mortgage, stuff some money under the matress and convert the loft.

    2) Sell the same property and buy a gaffe in France.

The head says 1, the heart says 2.

Well we are going for 2 and are now actively looking for a pad in France. If any of you guys can recommend decent immobilers, let us know.

So what are you planning to do PW? Split your time between the two countries or plump for moving to France full time?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

If you don't like it you can always go back.
If you don't try there will always be that nagging question 'What if...?'

Wayhey another convert - good news PW.

I'm assuming that this will be a second home and, as such, I expect that you will want to live either close to the coast or within easy reach of the airports.

If you do decide to venture further south and look around the middle I can certainly put you in touch with English or English speaking estate agents, just let me know.

Good luck in whatever you do and, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this but keep your eye on the pound/euro rate, it can make a HUGE difference when buying a house.
