  • Well done David et al

Over the past few months, my new job has involved making a large number of changes to our marketing collateral (printed brochures, websites, business stationery, adverts, POS material, signage, websites and so on). These jobs involve a lot of "background" work, getting all the component parts in order, compiling them, tweaking and adjusting, changing, amending etc.

However, all the staff/users see at the end of it is the finished result - and will more often than not comment to the negative.

I'm lucky in that most of what I have done has been very well received (if my recent review is to be believed), but there are certain people who like to "nit-pick".

What I'm trying to say (not in the most eloquent fashion) is that I appreciate the efforts of the team in trying to make this a better place, thank you.

    Well done.

    Oh, and the Mods.

Well I've had my moan and I have moved on, I will no doubt get used to the decoration and before long will not remember what it used to look like. I have no appreciation whatsoever for how much time or hard work it took to get here so fast, as binary is not a language I speak!!

Unlike some other comments I will not stop visiting the site, as the appearance does not distract from the fact that I come here for the helpful advise and friendly banter. This has not changed for me since day 1.

So for whatever its worth and for whatever reason the update was made, thank you admin for ensuring we can all continue to visit this happy home.

Was not keen at first, but it is growing on me as I get used to where things are now.

                      Well said Mikey

I was just looking through the Groups, and came across the one I set up the last time we had a major upgrade, called 'This New Forum Set-Up Isn't So Bad After-all' That was 2 years ago I reckon, and everyone has pretty much forgotten it now. We'll get there.

Cheers Dave and the other Admins

I appreciate the work, I just get a bit frustrated at some things that have been 'fixed' and weren't broke!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

A lot of things that have changed is down to the forum software, vBulletin, which Admin have no control over. They buy the software, and then just change the styling overlay so that it looks Grapevine-y. This is why they put off upgrading to the latest version of vBulletin for so long, because they knew it would end up being different. However, eventually more and more problems creep in with the old software where spammers find their way in and becomes susceptible to hackers etc., plus the support and solutions get less as everyone moves over to the newer version. So in the end, you just have to make the move...
