  • Wedding List

So I spent most of my life single, was a single parent for 11 years, and now I'm properly under orders .... apparently we're getting married ....

The wedding list so far is:
    Bigger greenhouse
    Potting Shed
    Water Butts
    Bigger chicken coop / run
    More paving slabs
    More bamboo canes
Loads more large pots for spuds / toms
    Fence posts
    3 x 100ft hoses

How does that look so far? What else can I add?

That's not a wedding list, it's a Xmas list. Or possibly a birthday list

Do people still do wedding lists? Last few I've been to people have just asked for hard cash or vouchers which is a bit vulgar to me (blimey, listen to me!) but then again at least you don't get 3 cheese boards like we did (which is three more than we needed!). Suppose it's changed a bit since people needed the bottom drawer to be filled as they had nothing when they moved out from home. One friend asked for B&Q vouchers so that they could do up the garden (yes, I know!) so I get annoyed everytime I see the overgrown mess that it is nearly 2 years later when I know loads of people gave them money towards it - kind of false pretences to me but maybe I'm just grumpy!

Like the idea that you both want the same things by the way

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

well thats sorted then,if you were to make a list up,you often find peeps will club together for things, you could have a money box with garden fund on it,and hold it in both hands as the guest come in be greeted hehehehehe you then buy of your choice, and hold a BQ to show/thank them

Congrats FG, had a look at your list and there's no watering can or any twine.

When my OH and I got married we'd already been together for 8 years and had all the necessary items, our wedding list contained things that we wanted to do on honeymoon, we went skiing. We had dog sledding, ski lessons, snowboarding, reindeer rides, etc etc.

My problem with your list FG is there are no fun inexpensive items on it. I wouldn't want to buy bamboo canes, but might consider 'gnomeo and juliet' garden gnomes. Funk it up a bit dude.

We are going to a Chinese/English wedding in June, and they are undertaking the Chinese custom of Hong Bao where you give money anonymously in little red envelopes with good luck messages written in Chinese... the couple have a little post-box where you put your envelope.
