  • Wedding Clothes Etiquette question

Soooo, my sisters getting married in May and my little girl is being bridesmaid which is all lovely but I'm flat flat flat flat broke and can not afford anything fancy to wear.

    now the question:

i've seen a cream & gold lace tunic which i could wear with trousers and it's only 8 quid of ebay.

Would i breach any wedding etiquette if i wore it to my sister wedding. maybe i should ask her?

I don't think the "don't wear white" thing counts for much today. If your sis doesn't mind then go for it!

Is it tasteful and does it fit the colour scheme/theme (if there is one?)

Nowt wrong with eBay or thrift shops - my funeral dress was a fiver from eBay and I got lots of compliments on it

I like a bargain - and have bought several items of clothing from eBay sellers. You don't have to tell anyone where it came from.

As for ettiquette, I wouldn't have a clue (yeah, OK, you knew that! ), but as TS and the Hobbit said, check with your Sister as to the colour scheme, and go for it!

You used not to be supposed to wear white to a wedding G4. Something about upstaging the bride..................
Still it's not like shes gonna pitch up in a big white frock, just a tunic so should be ok.

The only thing I'd be checking is the colour! Glad I did, as a wedding we are going to in February has purple as the bridesmaid colour, which was going to be the colour of the dress I was going to wear... not wearing purple any more!!

So what if it's from ebay, thrift shop, homemade etc? No one else has to know

Well I know the bridesmaids are wearing teal dresses and thats the theme in general, teal & cream.

I was just worried about it being cream, not anything else tbh. I'm really pleased its only 8 quid and I always get stuff of ebay. I like particular labels (oooooooh get me ) and I can get tops & jeans for less than a tenner!
