  • Water Marking Photos

Has anyone got any experience of water marking online photos.
I have been looking on Ebay and google shopping and they are covered in illegal copies of my potatoes that I have spent time and money on.
I won't mention any company names but it is becoming a problem as people think they are my potatoes they are selling.

So they have...they've copied your british queen photo and used for charlotte....and that's just the first one I've found...and another...

eBay members are not allowed to use another eBay user's pictures or descriptions in their listings or About Me pages without the owner's permission.

Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
      Listing cancellation
      Loss of eBay fees
      Limits placed on account privileges
      Loss of PowerSeller status
      Account suspension
      Examples
A seller doesn't know the best way to describe an item. The seller copies a substantial amount of another member’s description and pastes it into a listing.
A seller uses someone else's picture and includes it in a listing, since it looks very similar to the item the seller is offering.
A seller likes the way a competitor's About Me page looks. The seller copies the look and feel and a substantial amount of the text and creates an About Me page.
Report a member who is using your text or images without your permission.

I can report some as well if you like, tomorrow...I can say the same photos are on your website - which they are.

Can't believe they've had the cheek to put their own text on the bottom of the pics
I hope you get some joy from reporting the infringement tattieman.

I don't know how to do it, but OH has a photography website and he puts something about copyright on each image. I'll ask him.

Most image manipulation programs, such as PhotoShop or GIMP will let you add text to a picture. Some will let you save the text as a "layer" so that you don't have to type it each time. Some have "batch" capabilities, so you can add your text to a whole group of pictures in one operation. If you want to get more sophisticated and have so called "covert" watermarking then check out:

            Hope this helps.

Cheers for the help as always. It does wind me up. I do all the hard work. I grow the potatoes, Harvest the spuds, Pack the spuds, Pay a proffesional to picture them and people just copy them. People might think it is me that are selling the spuds as my pictures are unique and they could get some rubbish that a bedroom trader has bought in Tesco. The pictures are not even of the proper potatoes!!
Ok I will calm down now. I have got it off my chest.
