Its a positively balmy 8 degrees here. Going down the plot to tidy my fruit bed and mulch it if its not too hard still.

We had sun for about an hour. So I got togged up in 2 pairs of trousers, 2 pairs of socks, thermal boots, 2 pairs gloves, scarf, hat, cardi and coat!

I finally got the chance to go outside and DO something as OH has taken the boys to his mums. And the frost had gone and it didn't look too cold. And it's too darn muddy to dig. I was slipping and sliding about.

So I only managed to tidy up the front garden. And clear some moss. But it looks way better.

Shame I couldn't dig though. I was all fired up for it too lol

And only my hands got cold to start, only after an hour did my feet get cold, that's progress for me with my chilblains!

It's blowing a gale here, and it hasn't really got light all day. It's about to get dark again now... The wind is forecast to get worse overnight, and won't drop til Tuesday when the frost will be back
On the plus side, I can't dig anything anyway I've got my fingers crossed for suitable weather in 3 weeks....

It has been a miserable cloudy day no sun no rain and no wind to speak of just glum. Not been anywhere.
              Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
              and ends with backache

Yeah, the ground is certainly soft here - it's like a swamp...and the wind can blow you off your feet!!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

Gale force wind and rain here. Has been dark the whole day. Totally miserable here. The wind is actually roaring in the chimney.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Hi Guys- I got down to the allotment today with two reluctant dogs , its rather chilly ! but dry and yippee the soil is not frozen solid as it has been... so managed to get some more weeds cleared in the plot marked for my tatties Can't wait for it to get lighter in the evenings to make visits after work possible. Spring is on its wayhayhay

Got down for an hour with Boo this arvo. Pulled weeds from around my fruit bushes, laid down some newspaper and covered that with a nice thick mulch of manure.
That will get pulled down nice and slowly by the worms over the coming year and hopefully keep weeds down a bit so I can concentrate on the veg beds.
Ground too wet to dig, but at least not frozen solid today.
