Anyone got any bizarre container pictures, I'm in need of some inspiration for the garden. Anything which wouldn't normally be a container, but is very effective.

I don't think it's that unusual, in that I've heard of people using boots before, but here is my picture, taken just now. I also have a recycling bin full of carrot seed which isn't that interesting as it just looks like a box full of dirt! -

I don't have any pics but last year I used an old stove similar to this one as a container. I put flame lilles in it

Cheers seahorse, I like the stove, and are you using the recycling bin for show carrots growem?
I've been thinking about hanging baskets, for some shallots, beetroot, peas aswell as my herbs and salads. I'm also on the look out for a commode, for a grassy comfrey seat!

I'm sure it's Shirl that uses an old washing machine drum...if you want one of those please feel free to come take the one of of our drive!
In Turkey(& I'm sure a lot of other Med countries?),they use the large olive oil tins to grow in...I think they look pretty cool...sorry no pics!

Haven't got piccies at the mo but I use a tin bath for my gunnera, a collander for lettuce, a metal dustbin which I have used for mini sweetcorn and carrots, wastepaper bins (solid types) for various veg. Metal coal skuttle, wooden veg crates, an old wine box and recently I bought an old butter churn which I hope to plant up with trailing lobelia. Yesterday I saw an unusual shaped hanging basket. Made of the usual stuff, but shaped like a comic doggie. One place near here they grow flowers in an old WC pan......Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.Comment

I use an old tin bath,old belfast sink, old watering cans & tin buckets as containers, you can sometimes pick them up cheap from farms & reclamation places. Here's a few pics. including one of the mosaic I made on an old satellite dish, can't find one of the tin bath at the mo. though.Attached FilesInto every life a little rain must fall.Comment

The most unusual things we have is a toilet ion white and a bidet in a lovely shade of turquoise! They both have ferns and things in and the toilet is the "bog garden"

What do you use the dish for, have you built it up so that its flat, for a table?

I don't have a picture, but I am using a plastic baby bath...it has lettuce growing in it!

I used to stick a plant in just about any unwanted container. At our last house I had a pair of DH's old Rigger workboots with geraniums in them sat either side of the back door.

I just have it propped up against a fence as decoration at the moment.
