  • unripe plums?

i have a large fallen branch of unripe plums, of varying unripenesss and size. please can someone tell me whether they will continue to ripen? also, can i make jam with the unripened plums; most are full sized and halfway between hard and just going soft. still quite sour to taste. thanks for your help

I think they should continue to ripen. Place a banana in with them to release ethylene gas and this should speed up the ripening process.

thanks for your help. its a quite large branch, heavily laden, which i have stood upright so that the plums are hanging in a normal-ish position. if they havent ripened a bit more by weekend, i will pick and layout with some bananas. currently, they are very tart!

I think jams made with slightly under-ripe fruits tend to set better.
