  • Unable to upload images

    Hi,

I'm fairly new on here, and I gather you are all partial to a picture or two.

I would like to start a thread regarding some rather poorly looking garlic I am attempting to grow, but I'm unable to attach any images to the thread.

Does a specific setting need to be enabled in order for me to have permission to attach images? The icon in the thread creator allows me to select the images from my pc, and to select the .jpeg files, but it will not upload them. It's driving me nuts!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Am off to the lottie to calm down....

    Thanks,
    Paul

Hi and welcome. I felt your pain regarding posting pictures but have managed to figure out how to do it, although it is a right pain to do.

I have to resize every picture to 500x800 pixels using a free app, then save the new smaller pic to the device. Using the go advanced option of posting, the paperclip button is how I attach.

When you click the paper clip button, another window opens. Click on add file and then select your photo and then hit upload. You can only do this a pic at a time. You will know you have done it when the pic appears at the bottom pane of the window. Then when you are ready chose in line or not and you should be right.

I always use the preview option to see if the pics have been added. Backward I know, one of the reasons I have a low post count, I'm a lurker not by choice lol.

    Hope that helps ....

There's been a little problem with photos, some load & some don't,I use Microsoft picture manager resizing to get the photos 800 x 600 then they load.

The size obviously depends upon the pic file type

Same as JJ, If you have Microsoft Office, open picture manager - edit picture - resize - select large document:

Large size didn't work for me,I had to change it to small size document on the laptop but it might just be me? Today on the iPad I tried to upload three photos of my melon plant at various stages of growth but it only let me upload the photo I took today,no idea why,it was like one photos enough for you,I wonder if it's because I've tried to upload them before & they failed so they could be blocked or something,I don't know?

It's weird isn't it how different systems have their own problems. I never have an issue resizing to Document-Large............Laptop with Win 8.1

I don't resize my photos. Just load from my camera onto laptop Win 10 Chrome and add as attachment using the "square box with a tree in it" in "Go Advanced".

                  Still using the Box Brownie?

VC, I that photo is straight off your camera it isn't set to a very high detail as the pic is less than 1 megapixel. Good enough for the Web though.

I think alot of other Grapes are taking higher resolution photos. They could set their cameras to a lower resolution, as you have, if the pics are just for here and not going to be printed. That way the photos would be smaller and not need to be scalled down for upload.

Wouldn't know how much exposure to give my fufi!

Anyway, I've just found out what some of the buttons do on my Fuji (bought 2003).

Didn't know I could take B&W pics. I'm a slow reader - I've just reached page 28 of the manual
