Default TV Adverts! Yuck!

What's your most hated advert on TV?
I've just heard (thank goodness wasn't watching it!) the latest advert from Asda for their pre-packaged "meals" with the mother cooking the food and the little girl copying.
Not only does the music get on my nerves! but I'm sorry Asda - but I think the food looks plastic.
Have never bought anything like this but would much prefer my own home grown veg from my back garden!
I know not everyone is as lucky as me, nor has the time (I don't have that much to spare) nor perhaps the cooking skills, but come on!
What's everyone elses most hated advert on TV?

Any of the Asda ones... the music gets on my nerves

The Marks and Spencers food ones, as 1) they make me hungry and 2) I can never find the food in the flippin' shop!

At least Petit Filous contains some fruit and no artificial anything. Unlike a lot of products aimed at children. I'm just glad manufacturers are now catching on to the whole artificial colour/preservative thing. Never did like blue smarties.

As for least favourite ad. Difficult we seem to watch more dvds and videos than actual telly but I did notice today in between Star Trek cartoons and more Star Trek cartoons that the christmas ad campaign has started. I find Barbie anything crass and expensive, so "I like fairies" in response to the latest dolls will have to go unheaded. Also find the Motorola ads exceedingly irritating as is the catchphrase.

The finance ads drive me nuts. Especially that one with Carol Whassername! I thought she was supposed to have a huge IQ. If she is so bright why does she encourage people to get into huge amounts of debt. Aaaaarrrggghhhh!

I agree MB, she went right down in my opinion when she did those ads. I think they should stop all finance ads especially since we are supposed to be the most debt-ridden in Europe.

Default TV Ads

Cigarette ads were banned from TV . There is talk about ads. for alcohol being banned. Ads. for fast food could bebanned . But the ads. I would like to be banned are the Loan ads. No wonder many people are getting in debt. It makes money easy to get.......

Switch to this card and you'll have 0% interest on balance transfers for 6 months. Then, if you don't pay up in full, we'll come round and hit you over the head with a glut of marrows.

Consolidate your debts and we'll drop a 450kg giant pumpkin on you.

Hope this thread doesn't lead to non-gardening related gooooogle ads being placed at top.

Hi all,

I dislike all commercials. I don't watch much TV since we got rid of the big 'conversation destroyer' when we bought our 1957 Jukebox. If I am watching a programme which is interrupted by adverts, I usually hit the mute button then go off to do something until the programme starts again. Normally I then forget I was watching TV and miss the programme! Wish they would just show the whole thing then have a 15-20 minute ad break - would be a whole lot easier!!!

I hate the ones for I think its picture where the mums sorting the loan and the kids are yelling wheres this and that and shes telling them as the loan is being sorted theres no hint that you have to pay it back and that to phone them at that time in the morning you must be in a little bit of money problems but thats me presuming

I too despise the ones that make chidlren want to eat cr*p! things like 'lunchables' and 'cheese strings' which are apparently 'real cheese'!

But the one I CAN'T STAND and have to either turn over or leave the room for, is the Safestyle UK ad: "You know the one: you buy one, you get one free, I say you buy one, you get one free! (all shouted in a northern accent by a viking bloke). Even if we didn't live in a listed building, so could use their windows, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!! AAARRRGGH!

(I'm sure I'll think of more!)

Hmm, I use msn messenger and have 3 people am talking to this afternoon - ads at the bottom of conversation screen: webcam chat; bank mortgage (mort = death?); and Loans. Get one now! Then at the base of the main windows live messenger is an advert for gambling.

I can stand the fact that when the ad's come on your ear drums are blasted out of your head. I'm sure someone hits the volume button up when they come on!!!!!!!!!
I really can't stand the little phone from Carphone warehouse. I just hate him and really want to kick the little bugger from here to next year. Not sure what it is but I think it's such a stupid idea, at the end of the day a phone is a phone!!!!
Why don't they advertise something that is worth while? we all know adsa / tesco / m&s etc sell food so why don't they tell us how to cook with the bl**dy food not tell us we can have it already cooked for us. No wonder kids don't know how to cook, or whats in there food........... Saying that alot of my friends are now getting there first homes together and I was so supprised when my phone would ring non stop around dinner time with them all looking for advise on how to cook somthing. When I have kids I'm going to make sure they know how to cook for when they get out into the big bad world.

Strop over now!!!!
