I think it might be tomorrow actually - something to do with Leap Year? But I'm looking forward to it.

I know it's impossible but my heart keeps telling me it happened last week. Last Wednesday it was proper dark by 3.30pm and for the last few days it's still reasonably light at 4pm. It can't be so, because the astrologers and everyone say it's the 22nd but a little tiny winy bity of me believes otherwise, especially when I see the light outside

TBH, I've found the short days alright this year.. probably because it's been so mild !

Twas a period of time spoken about by those who were resident on this island in days of yore, twas a time when people would greet each other with terms akin to,"what marvelous weather we are having"/"it makes you glad to be alive"/"good morning neighbor,I see your veg patch is coming along well in all this lovely sunshine" or so they say in legend spoken quietly around the fire

My new working annualised hours include a 3.30pm finish each day. I've JUST a say managed to get to the lottie each evening whilst its still light so that I can give my chooks some mixed corn to keep them warm through the cold night.

Once its dark they go to roost and won't eat from then until morning.

Its been touch and go lately but I'm glad to know that everything is uphill from now on and it won't be a problem for the rest of the winter!
