  • Trading name suggestions please;

    I am going to make some pickles and chutneys I think (and maybe the odd cake) and sell them at the local farmers markets. Well, a girl has to be busy - I'd like to grow as much as possible too

    I need a name that says 'local, hand prepared, old fashioned, bountiful, succulent, harvesty type things.

    Any ideas please? I'm about the least inspired person you would come across.....

    Everyone tries to think of a name that covers all those aspects, so you can bet its been done already. Why not something simple like "Handmade by Corris", "Corris's Kitchen", "Crafty Corris"!!

        I'd not go for ones which are product specific ie in a jam / pickle etc as you'll have to have different ones for different products and therefore not brand. Quite like Preserve the Future but that might fall down if you diversify into cakes. Something to be said for the Handmade by Corris type ones, there is a lady at our farmers' market who is Handmade by Alison (not me) and she covers soups, preserves, cakes etc and it works for all of them and keeps up the country kitchen type image.

        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

          How about something like 'The Corris Platter', kind of linking the slate/quarries of Corris with the selection of goodies you intend making.

            I agree with Alison - the "Handmade by ..." is a great idea, and can be used to cover as many different products as you can come up with. Good luck.

                    Please don't be offended but I don't think that "Colin" is a very appropriate name - even if it is sold in pots, tubs and err dustbins!

                        For an 'old fashioned' touch you could go with the 'Handmade by' suggestion above but call yourself 'Mrs [Your Name]' or 'Aunty...' or 'Granny...' (sorry if the last one offends, you may be 25 for all I know! :0).
                        I was feeling part of the scenery
                        I walked right out of the machinery
                        My heart going boom boom boom
                        "Hey" he said "Grab your things
                        I've come to take you home."

                            Well it would offend me, not being a lassy.

                              How about 'Pingle', you'll have to help me out with this one but doesn't it mean to mess about with food, norfolk stylie?
