the look of your border collie sat at the base of a fir tree, with a grey squirrel 30 feet up shouting abuse at him

I used to have a border collie. He was brilliant. Much smarter than many people I know.

Every day my beagle gives me a hint as she quickly alternates between looking straight into my eyes and looking at the kitchen cupboard door where her treats are kept.

I think it's cute but I guess you have to be there to appreciate it.

I have 2 dogs and we have a morning ritual. I let them out to do their business and when they come in they get a chew. Even if there is food in their bowl they still expect me to put more in, so I do, even if it's only a small amount.

I'm actually amazed at what they understand and think that a lot of owners don't understand their dogs.
