  • Too barmy to employ?

Our lad was having trouble with his phone - returned it to his local Nokia dealer who said they'd fix it. He took out the sim card so he could use it in his partner's phone without using up all her credit. He put it in to phone us and bust me, there was a text from Nokia telling him his phone was ready!

So you've got someone's phone in your shop. Do you REALLY text them? I'm getting to old for all this lunacy!

It's a bit like IT departments who email new staff their passwords...er don't they need that to access their emails to get their passwords?

I work for a huge multinational, often in some unpleasant places. There is a website for this company along with advice for the country that the new hire is going to. The new hire gets access to this once they arrive in work, with their password and company laptop etc.
No matter how many times I have mentioned this to the powers that be, it just hasnt changed. Doh!!

Lol! I forgot my M&S (I think it was) password details, so they emailed me a new one. When it came to the page to change it to something more memorable it said 'do not use the previously used password'!!! Der if I knew what the previous password was.... *shakes head

while it is a bit stupid i think its because they know we usually have an old phone about the house we will put the sim card in as most of us live by our mobiles for emergency contact ect these days, and many mobile phone shops lend you a cheap one while yours is being fixed if you dont have one, they did this with hubbys while his was being fixed however they had to send his away and it took 10 days.
