  • today i'm really excited :)

i've just been offered a huge pond from freecycle, so we're going to pick it up tomorrow, it will be big enough for all the big fish and the babies when i put them back in spring ....... the babies are currently swimming round looking really cute in a tank, and some of the bigger ones are just starting to change colour ..... i got too worried about them getting eaten or dying over winter to leave them in the pond with the big ones, as some of them are smaller than my finger nail.

so that means, i'll have a spare pond, ....... sooooooo i can get some duckies (eventually) and they can have their own place to swim

now all i have to do is persuade son and his friends that it's a good idea to dig a bigger hole in the garden to put it in ..... methinks a BBQ and beer will work

Oh brilliant! Lucky you! (I was going to say Lucky Duck but even I won't stoop so low for a cheap laugh. Too often.)

Tell your boys that you think you remember accidently burying a case of chilled Budvar or something RIGHT THERE WHERE YOU WANT A FISHPOND DIGGING! Who'd have thought it, eh? I mean, what are the odds, lads?

LMAO only thing is, the new pond is going where the old one was, so not too much deep digging, and they might notice there isn't any there cos theres a pond in the way lol

they have a bit of a break before digging the one for the duckies cos i have no idea where it's going yet until they've finished building on the waste ground at the bottom of the garden, cos hopefully i might get another 10 foot of garden, so plenty of room for a few ducks and chickens and a lovely big run

but i'm not getting excited yet, it could be ages before i get any if i don't get the allotment soon.

Lynda.Do you live on a private estate or a council one?
The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

            shhhhhhhh council

but it's ok, cos if anyone moans (which they won't )then they will go to live next door, as he owns his house, therefore no problem
