                    No swearing Manda,

I was watching said match and had to tape the last 20 mins as we went to see Handel's Messiah. Upon my return the last 20 mins was duly watched and my boys not only bagged a bonus poiont but stopped Perpignan getting a losing one.

Same time next week Piskie, Dan Carter wont make that much differance I feel.

Had to listen to Bleedin' Jones on the radio, it's not the same. It sounded like the Tigers were all over them like a rash. Great work, maybe get to see the match next weekend, a slightly more sensible time even if it is on Sunday.

I must say, Deano's boys did well in Paris.

Well if you think about it, we've been crap ever since we won the world cup but when it mattered in Ozz the boys came good and we got to the finals again so I don't mind them playing as they are just so long as the do the biz in the world cup ( and we thrape the french)

I was Chrimbo shopping with Mrs G so missed the matchstill I'll get the shirt ironed and ready for tomorrow

Piskie I wonder if the reason "we" cant play to the same standard internationaly is due to the amount of foreign players in the English game. On your side yesterday I believe I counted (including replacements) 7 non English qualified players. It is thrilling to watch players such as Aaron Mauger and Rabeni week in week out, but they dont contribute to our international side. To play alongside or be understudy to the likes of Carter (in the Perpignan case) must be a fantastic opportunity to learn, but there are very few players of that calibre in the world, so a French number 10 isnt going to get the chance to play top level club matches if he stays at the club.
I used to regularly watch Plymouth Albion (supporting my local side) in Div 2 and although we had a base of local players, (many of whom have gone on to Prem rugby with Bristol and Bath) we still had 3 South Sea Islanders, a Rumanian and a couple of other foreign internationals.
I firmly believe that a set number of foreign players should be in place for club rugby, and not a very high number at that.

Not being a real sport fan I think the foreign player issue is also an issue in football but .....................cricket limits the number of foreigners & we are still poor!
