  • Those working on Christmas Day/Boxing Day

I don't personally know anyone who is working over Christmas, but just wanted to spare a thought for those who are. Hoping you don't have to work too hard and that you are soon home to enjoy Christmas with your families.

This is the first year in the last 5 that I will be home for Christmas and New Year so I feel for those of you who are working.
Special thoughts for you and your families.

I've just caught myself logging on to my work emails and doing a few responses.* *Naughty girl, smacks own wrist. Logs back onto vine!!
I am going to be jolly pleased with the taxi driver and restaurant staff in about an hour as I tuck into my Christmas Dinner! All the best to everyone at work and thank you!

Worked last night (8.30pm-7.30am), and we tracked Santa via NORAD, just left the page open on the desk computer. T'was funny when we discovered a couple of the doctors checking on his progress!
Thankfully a quiet night, all our patients got a good night's rest and woke to find a little stocking at the end of their beds.

That will be me tomorrow night - thankfully for the first time in 8 years I have had Christmas day off! Cooked an amazing dinner so all is good. I don't intend to do too much tomorrow evening but that depends on the jobs that come in.
Hope everyone has had a good day!

Did it myself for several years, then swopped to pubs. Used to love seeing the resies faces when they came into the dining room and saw it all set up with crackers and flowers etc.

In fact in the last 20 years I think I've had less than 5 xmases at home, its been lovely having one of them today...so best wishes to all those who have had to work.

Mr Miffy has been on shift today at the hospital, folk still need looking after on Christmas day. He worked 7 till 3 so a shorter shift.
He always volunteers as some of the other nursing staff have younger children and our son is in his late teens and it is more important for mums and dads to be with younger kids we reackon on Christmas day.
My brother is a firefighter and he has had to work on Christmas day or new years over the years though not this year.
It is such a shame that people have only had one day at home this year as tomorrow is boxing day and all the shop workers etc will be at work ready for the sales.
I used to work in a shop and it was hell on the first day of the sales so i will be thinking about them tomorrow too.

My OH worked 4.30pm til 3.30am Christmas Eve and yesterday and will be working the same today and tomorrow. We still managed to fit in a lovely lunch and pressie giving. Is a busy time for cops as some families can't cope with this amount of time together with all the alocohol which goes along with it! Well done and thank you to all who worked to make our festive season safer and go smoothly...
