  • Think of me.

Tonight I have two of DD's friends round after school so they can practice the song they've decided to sing in the school talent contest. They're being picked up just after 7:00.....so thats about three hours of JLS 'One Shot'...over and over and over again!

The acoustics are better in a room with a tightly closed door. Good Luck!

I'm trying to think of something else they can sing...we've at least persuaded them away from 'The Club is Alive' as although they didn't understand the lyrics, they're just a little suggestive.
One Mum suggested a Disney song, got a funny feeling I'm going to be fighting a losing battle though so may have to trsign myself to an evening of JLS.

              It'll be worse than karaoke.

I'm sure it will be fine...might suggest they shut themselves away to practice so they can surprise me with how great they are at the end

Talking of Karaoke...I just found one of their Play Station sing a long things...it's got The Clash on it...how do you fancy my chances?

Just remembered - in 1982 when my daughter was 10, she and 2 other Girl Guides entered a talent contest dancing to "Thriller". All the rehearsal was in my kitchen and the only person who found it hard to put up with was her dad! Mums have the patience of a saint.

I'd go for a combination of the above - have a large glass of gin, belt out The Clash and embarrass them into silence
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Well there was nothing I could do to sway them away from JLS...but it was a great evening anyway.
Three eight year old girls that are happy to act their age and not take things too seriously....had a good laugh helping them choreograph(sc) their routine.
Whether they turn out to be the best or not,one things for sure...they'll have had a fun time doing it
