i started growing veg a couple of years ago, much to my neighbours annoyance ! posh new housing estate ! greenhouse and veg plot ! we have recently moved to a rural cottage with loads of land, but the thought of starting again scared me ! ive done it though, planted a orchard (will be a few or many years before that comes to fruit ! ) and made a huge allotment with poly tunnel and raised beds, its taken some serious slog, i will admit ive faulted along the way, the thought of going in the garden after a 10 hour shift at work, then a 60 mile drive home..!!! but my veg is growing !!! and i know now why i spent so many nights in the freezing rain and cold getting it done.

If it was worth doing and easy everyone would be doing it....if it was even just easy then everyone would try it once...keep going, it only gets better. And any time you are tempted to stress about the posh neighbours, just think of the ones who are posting plaintively in forums like these, saying "Really want a polytunnel but only have a Wimpey garden..."
You are setting a good example, there is no finer sight.

Well done Louise. It is an aweful slog sometimes but well worth it as i'm sure you know by now.
Wou've the hardest part over so now you can look forward to harvesting all your crops in a few weeks time.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Thankfully i got rid of the posh neighbours ! tutting when my hubby was building the greenhouse or should i say rolling about on the grass trying to build it ! as he lost the instructions, now we have moved and live rural it seems to be the norm growing veg, my poly tunnel is big and ugly i have to be honest, but my new neighbours think its great and grows veg himself, x
