    thats me done for the season :(

    i have had an allotment for 4 weeks planted nothing but got alot cleared and covered cant do anything else for 8ish weeks

    i really wanted to get everything ready for spring planting maybe even a cheeky winter crop but no such luck ill keep everything covered

    im going into hospital to have a operation on both ankles i will be in cast (both feet) for 6 weeks then 2 weeks at least on rehab

    im slighly scared but delighted at the same time as i have problems with my feet for years

    im having both achillies tendons lenghten anyone had this or know of anyone who has?

    Aw, well done for clearing and covering your plot, at least you will have a nice blank canvas for when you are ready to plant in it.

    Good luck for your operation, I know nothing about it I am afraid, but hope you are soon on the mend.

        Good luck with your Ops' Darcy........you'll be recovered just in time to get your onion & garlic sets in.......plus, just think of all the reading you can get done whilst being pamperred......D

          first of all,i wish you all the best with your operation and recovery,
          next is,think about the posibilities of sensui overwinering onions and garlic,they can be started of in modules or packem into seed trays to root,that way you are in control for a few weeks,then maybe you will be able to get some help to pop them in the ground under your guidance,it will only mean using a little hand trowel,that way you can watch them grow from home,and have some crop for next year as long as they get water,they will give no bother until you able to get them planted,they grow lots of roots before the green shoots appear,i have not looked yet to see if they in the garden centre's,but if not,perhaps a friend would take you along via a wheelchair{ask your GS some do places provide them for customers ??}just another thought from my head,that way you will not feel left with an empy gap whilst other are growing,good luck,

            thanks guys i am already planning on giving my wife orders for growing lol as soon as the kids go back to school i think my wife will be taking me out to local garden centres if not to buy just to have a look around and get a brew and cream cake

                Best of luck with the op.....maybe chuck a few overwintering onion seeds in modules for getting started....they could be ready for transplanting when u back in mid/end Oct..??
                I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
