  • Thanks Bigmally

After seeing your idea for a sawing horse I made one!! Used the old conventional one and took it apart and then with the aid of a couple of oak floorboard off cuts made the new one.

Brilliant and cuts the time log cutting in half!!!!! And they are all the right size!!!!!

Brilliant, I'm so glad someone else has found one of my wacky ideas useful. I do agree though, it deffinately "cuts" the job in half if not more.............................nice job.
Due to the tensions of the bunjee chords, a tip if possible is to cut through the centre upwards if you can get the saw underneath the bottom brace.

Thanks for the tip. At the moment I can't get the saw under the center but it could be modified if necessary. I am only cutting up the 'rubbish' and the centre bit is the length of the logs for the big stove. So I probably won't have to cut through the centre.

We have a huge stove, takes logs up to 56cm so the distance between the two supports is 45cm. This allows for the saw and the ends of the mètre long logs are for the two smaller stoves.
