What a superb game of tennis last night, both players at the top of their game. It ia a pity our prancing England footie team are not up to the same level of fitness. Perhaps Mr Beckham you did NOT make the team because you are not good enough.
If football IS our national game, why not, when it is the euro/world cup, the ordinary man in the street could pick the team they want to represent OUR country via phone lines or postal vote. (any money raised on voting could go to sports related projects). Once WE have picked our team then it it up to the manager to knock them into shape. Then at least we could say they were truly our natinal side.

Football,tennis,cricket ........ any or all,but at least there is an alternative sport within each to keep the viewers minds occupied while waiting for a win .......
