Its true, some trees never manage to successfully root properly.
Its wise to nip this one in the bud, no pun intended.

Can't you have a quiet word with your Committee about it rather than take guerilla action - if the neighbour ever suspects you've done the tree damage he/she could make your life miserable.

I wouldn't like it at all but I would suggest your first option should be a friendly chat about just why! You may be gardening next to this person for many years to come and it would be a shame not to get on. If they're a total newbie to gardening, they may have no idea they've done anything 'wrong'.I was feeling part of the scenery

As far as I'm aware and there will be far more experienced committee folk than I here, but trees have to fall into certain criteria, I wouldn't expect eucalyptus to fall into any acceptable criteria for an allotment.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.Comment

Can't see how this could be within the rules (whatever the rules might be). Allotments are intended primarily for growing food, not ruddy-great trees!Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.Comment

Dont even go there........We have a Eucalyptus in our garden. We did NOT plant it and should have had it taken out when we first moved in - Silly HF now attached to said tree......
It costs us £300-500 every other year to have it reduced......
