  • A Tale Of The Unexpected...

A friend I work with had a spooky encounter on her way into work this morning.
She was driving in on her usual route, usual time (5.30-ish). The weather this morning was clear as a bell with no mist or fog, but as she rounded a bend she suddenly saw what she described as a "column of mist or fog" in the road directly ahead of her. She said it was so dense looking that she actually threw herself back in the seat in a "brace for impact" sort of way, as she came upon it so suddenly there was no time to brake or swerve.
However the car passed through the mist column with no ill effects and she continued into work with no more incident.
It happened on the Bude/Launceston road not far from the Countryman Pub. It's unlit and at that time of morning there was no other traffic.
My friend is not the type to fabricate or exagerate and she was really quite shaken by her experience!
Anyone else ever had a spooky encounter?

Well things go missing in this house and then months later turn up in ridiculous place, The dog will suddenly stare at nothing or twitch for no apparant reason . It is an old house .....nuff said.

I used to live in Edwin Starr's house, the house he died in and we used his rather plush bedroom as chill out room/office.

Some days I'd hear Mr Z coming up the creaky stairs when he should be at work and I'd call out to him 'wotcher doing home so early' and other [sometimes racy] 'shoutouts' and there would be a sudden stop of the creakiness and then silence...........

not me personaly, but my son years ago when he was at junior school,he tolled us a lot later in life how he saw his grandad in his bedroom, then literaly walk through the door,he said thats when he got really scared and hid under the duvet, wish he had tolled us at the time,it only came out in a conversation not that many years ago, shudders, grandad had died a while befor, and we were living in the house he had build and lived in for several years, what i can remember is even the boys used to comment on a funny feeling when walking into 1 particular room,we passed it of in front of the boys,we eventually left that house,it gave us the creeps,

In my time I have seen: a full horsedrawn stagecoach; several UFOs; a ghost walking through a garden wall - interestingly enough only in East Anglia. No unusual sights here in W London - the planes annoy them!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

We went out on the motorbike for a ride near bradfield in sheffield sometime in the summer about 2 years ago. We were on a darkish lane at about 10pm on our way home when we both suddenly saw a horse and rider dart across the road in front of us. Pete braked hard and swore quite a bit, I saw the wall at the side of us fall as the horses hooves clipped it. When we pulled in a second later to have a look if the rider and horse were ok the wall was intact and the other side of the wall was a 60ish foot drop and no horse or rider in sight. It fair spooked the heck out of us and we hardly ever go down that lane to get home anymore!

Ahh..well you see I'm afraid that I look at it from a scientific aspect. A trick of light in mist- or a spiral of fog like a mini whirlwind but of fog.
It's all air and moisture and light.
Well those are my thoughts- but who knows I could be very, very wrong

I found this nice site with really interesting light piccies- some things I'd never heard of before ( eg moonbows!)

I was out one night on walkabout with Sheba my old belgian Sheepdog a long time before him in the corner came along and as we went through the wood to a clearing a hand was put in the middle of my back i could feel the pressure in my back but there was nobody there i did a 360 with the torch and sheba was not spooked so it must have been friendly .
When i told Old Gall Marley she shivered but i still go that way every night and no repeat a bit scarey that night though....jacob

I wondered if I'd get 'funny vibes' living in a house built in the 1600's.
A few peeps have asked me if I've had any experiences, but nope. Nothing.
( I started to wonder if they knew something that I didn't!)
I do know the old guy in the house opposite hung himself - but that seems to be a national pastime here apparently!

We stayed in a holiday cottage once that was supposed to be haunted & the wardrobe door kept opening by itself in the night, I took all the hangers out of it & put a chair in front of it 'just in case'!
