  • Super Psyched! Moving to the country..

    Hello all!

The OH and I are moving to the country!! We've spent the last two weeks looking at rental properties in and around Dorking Surrey, and have finally found our dream home. We'll be going from a one bedroom flat (with absolutely not garden space other than a shady bit of steps) to a massive two bedroom detached cottage on it's own private lane set in 50 acres of field and forest bordering on National Trust land. It's also a £100 cheaper a month than our current place!

The absolute best bit is that I can now finally adopt a rescue dog (most likely to be a Lurcher or greyhound) AND have more soil to dig in that I could ever want! I feel as if I've won the lottery.

Just wanted to share the news.

Wonderful news! Is the whole 50 acres yours to play with? Blimey, what I could do with 50 acres...

Many congrats, same question as Pumpkin - all 50 acres . . . . loads of work but what joy. Hope you have a secure enough and long enough lease that you will reap the benefit of any work you put into the soil.

I'm guessing from your description it'll be on Leith Hill or Holmwood Common, yes? I'm in Brockham and my pony (formerly ponies ) is in Coldharbour. With all that land, it'd be rude not to get a horsey or 20... Welcome to the area. I LOVE it round here!

Thank you all so much for your lovely wishes.. this is exactly why I love the vine so much. Celebrating good news and supporting during the bad, a proper extended family in every form but the physical.

As to the 50 acres.. that's for the dog. With a vast population of rabbits to chase, a warm Aga to sleep against, and the loving devotion of two humans.. what more could a dog want for?!
