How many of you got sun burned today?
I got out the factor 50 slapped it all over the kids went to boots and bought some factor 40 stuff that last 6 hours for hubby (not manly to be seen putting on sun cream at work) got all the hats out thought i had it covered...... but now i can't move very well, in lots of pain. story of my life sort out hubby and kids then forget to look out out for me well its a lesson well learnt.
I'd rather regret the things i've done than regret not doing them at all.

Take care of yourself Sam. Your family needs you. And yes it was hot here - but just to factor 25 level. Looks set to continue so get your sun screen organised.

No, I rarely burn but I rarely give myself chance to. Yesterday I had long sleeves on - I actually feel cooler in long cotton sleeves than with the hot sun directly on my skin. Today I have short sleeves but a slathering of Factor 60. I'm just a softie - I can stand anything but pain!

I'm sure I read somewhere that factor 30 is equivalent to a t shirt or something, so factor 60 would be like a t shirt and big wooly jumper

        How hot is that
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

As far as not getting burnt yes, but not as far as keeping cool. No wooly jumper here!

I burn easily, and never remember to put on sun cream, so just cover up. Went out on the plot for one hour today and now have a nice rash on my forearms where they caught the sun!!
Got too hot in the end so went home and got stuck into the ironing.

This is controversial, but I avoid suncream if I can help it. I think a gentle, gradual suntan is actually healthier than slapping on chemicals. I garden and cycle a lot, all year round, so I tan quite easily and quickly.
I DO use Factor 15-30 on tender areas (back of neck, chest), but otherwise I avoid the stuff.

BTW, I never try to burn myself ... I just cover up when I'm "done" or go indoors.

I'm the same two-sheds. I am out and about quite a lot and tan quite easily - I wear factor 15 on my face if I can but other than that...I just build up a gradual tan and cover up when I have had enough. it is controversial...my OH keeps telling me how aging the sun is and how i am killing myself, but I think a bit of sun is good for you...helps the production of vit. D which helps with calcium so all good if not done to excess.
