  • Starting to panic...

I've not done any christmas shopping yet. Granted, I haven't got that much to get, just kids and parents but I've only got this weekend. I've just taken on a second half plot and wanted to spend the weekend clearing that. Do you think the kids would mind not having any pressies???

Bex it depends how old the kids are lol. I have done most of my shopping but son no 1 wants a toilet bag filled with toiletries not as easy as it seems, as he cant use a lot of things, and I have no idea what his gf wants. Son no 2 asked for a million pound and a house, get real lol his gf sorted. Son no 3 asked for a hamper as he is living on beans on toast as he struggles to pay bills and food on his own. Son no 4 asked for an xbox ummmm no in a word. They are aged 22 to 30 not little kids. Daughter has asked for GHD'S hmmmmmmmmm. Then there is OH he asked for an ipod with a bigger gigabite £200 ish good job he pays for his own pressie. Grandson, Lego always goes down well for an 8yr old. 14yr old niece, great nieces x three and 1 great nephew, inlaws the list is never ending. 9 for dinner on christmas day aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Panic panic panic.
I havent wrapped one present yet.

This might be the case as the xbox game my youngest wants isn't released until february.

My kids are 17 and 10, 17 year old doesn't seem too bothered but the 10 year old has a list as long as my arm. I've managed to invite us round to my moms for christmas dinner so food is sorted and no cooking YIPPEE. Although saying that when I invited myself round two years ago my mom broke her wrist 2 days before christmas so I ended up cooking anyway. She is under stricked instructions to be careful.

How about ordering your bits and pieces online Bex? Lots of places offering good reductions and free next day delivery at the moment.

I'm a real miserable bag in crowded shops, all my shopping was done on the couch with the laptop and a cup of tea beside me.

I wrapped the last of my presents this afternoon and one of my dogs is having great fun with the inner cardboard tube from a roll of wrapping paper - silly boy.

Tell them they can have their pressies when they tidy their rooms, like you asked them to do months ago.

I used to pick up an Argos catalogue and flick through it for ideas- and then buy it from a shop nearby ...phone first to check they've got one and ask for it to be put to one side ( maybe pay for it over the phone. Try and get as many gift from the same shop!)
Don't panic- there's loads of time yet!

We've been Christmas shopping this afternoon it wasn't too busy either all we're waitng for now is some on line stuff to arrive then we've done.
I do feel kind of smug because this is the earliest we've been ready.

I sorted out my second Christmas present today, which is for my youngest granddaughter of about 2 months old.
My first one sorted and sent was to my Secret Santa. My kids would beat me if they knew that.

Christmas is not a good time for me and am more excited about the winter solstice yeah yeah bring spring on!!

Looks like I will need to take the day off from work to get myself sorted
