Not much to do with gardening, but I picked this up during my years in British Industry

    Always remember the 6 Ps
    Proper.
    Preparation.
    Prevents.
    P**s.

    Performance.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Could I humbly offer my own stages?
        1. Initial idea - who knows whether it is a good one or not?
        2. Musings on the vine
        3. Mixture of reviews - for and against and a few neutrals
        4. Enthusiasm and doubt - in equal quantities
        5. Action - this is the first practical stage
        6. Success or failure - this depends on circumstances
        7. Review on the vine - this leads to enlightenment about stage 6.
        8. Ideas for what to do next year
        9. Support from fellow viners to keep me going till next year.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
