  • Spoonerisms / Malapropisms

I know my friends and I are mad, even crazy, but does anyone else purposely make up Spoonerisms and Malapropisms?

Going along the road early one Sunday morning, we saw a fair few "Rat Flabbits" on the road. A bank of Rimproses, a field of Shaby Beep, and best of all, when passing another field my friend said "Oh Gy Mod, look at all those chuckin fickens". I nearly wet myself. (Sorry if I've offended anyone with the swearing one)

When I worked at a doctor's surgery, we were often asked for a repeat subscription, or repeat description. Treatments for constipation were called depositories.

Anyone else got any daft words or phrases? I need a laugh right now - think I'm slipping into a depressive phase again

We were in Bali a few years back and went for a walk one morning...

One of the staff approached along the path coming the other way and when we crossed he said:

            "You enjoy big breasts ?"

It wasn't until the day after that we realised that he was asking if we had enjoyed our breakfast

Breakfast is now known in my family as "Big Breasts" which confuses Amerians just as much as the original episode confused us !

Same holiday we were sat at a bar and OH was talking to the bar man about how he loved to eat duck. The barman was amazed. We thought nothing of it as the Balinese eat a lot of duck. Gradually more and more staff began to gather round to listen. People started buying us drinks and winking at us. There was suggestive talk of how duck makes your manhood 'strong' but in the morning all the ducks in the village run away from you

Duck spoken in a yorkshire accent sounds a lot like Dog apparently !!!

"brace the main splice" it should be 'splice the main brace' trouble is I say it so often the I cant tell which way round it is now!

Love them Really made me giggle, something I haven't done for a while Think I'll use the "brace the main splice" this weekend when friends come over. Talking about anagrams, and apologies for anyone from Newark, but that's an anagram for a "stupid person" (work it out, very useful at times )

Well, on an nice evening we often go for constipational walks, spotting flutterbies, squizzels and the like. My friend once drank a tan of cango, which still makes me giggle.

My OH works in the same yard as a paintsprayer who's clearly inhaled too much 'two-pak'. Sometimes, if we're feeling silly, we can't sit opposite each other when he's talking in the pub, for fear of setting each other off.

He's sprayed an old wolwo, has a Vauxhall Fontana, heard a nice piano-ist...oh I'll have to have a think, but he's Mr Malapropanist himself. Not sure what Spoonerism is, will have to look it up - will it be censored? It sounds wude!

Not a spoonerism, but our lad (now 33!) used to like Dawn Flakes when he was little - Could't say 'c' at the time. We still call them that.
He also used to call lemonade Sivvy Pop (fizzy). These things stick don't they? No one else would know what he meant when Himself asks me if I fancy a glass of sivvy.

A friend's family used to call pink blancmange Stink Puff because one of their younger members used to try to call it pink stuff and failed!

My little girl always eats up all of her venchtables and broccoli (calabrese) has always been baby trees.
My big boy had his own language when he was small and some words have stuck, ticca pooga is orange juice(?!), fitch for beard, therefore my bearded Dad is often refered to as fitchy-man!
