Spare room to rent in Hull?

I am desperately looking for somewhere for Son No1 to live in in Hull. He had a room lined up in a student house with some friends, but he had to go through clearing, and it's taken a while to confirm he's got the place. He's now going to do a Foundation Degree in Computer networking at Hull College. In the meantime, his place at the house has been taken by someone else, so now he's got nowhere to go.

Does anyone know of a room he could rent at a reasonable rate while looking for accomodation, or of somewhere more permanent? He's got to be at college for 21st, but we can only bring him and his stuff up at the weekend.
There is a bit of a cash flow problem here in Kent, so we can't really managed a hotel stopover, it will have to be a round trip, just dropping him and his stuff, but with nowhere to put it, we have a problem.

It's a long shot, but if any grapes in the area know of somewhere he could go I'd be grateful of any help.
