  • Sooooo proud

(sorry to do the pleased mummy bit - I don't usually)

No.1 son is a complete bookworm, he devours books and loves it. The other two have never really been interested in reading. Imagine my surprise when I find small daughter curled up on the sofa with Enid Blyton IN FRENCH.

I shall have to have a go when she has finished..................

It took my ex's daughter well over 18 months before she would actually speak any French in front of me. She was worried about making mistakes I think, as my French is pretty tolerable. I wouldnt ever ever have corrected or passed comment but she wasnt happy.
I came home for a leave and she had one of her friends round, and without thinking she was rabbitting away with her friend, and speaking to me in French as well.
It was a fantastic feeling for me, so I know just how proud you must be. Enjoy, it only gets better from here.

Children are the gift that keeps on giving, everything new they do is such a joy. Even now my strapping 6' 3" 17 year old with his hobbit feet does things to make me so proud of him. He recently went to a party and one of his friends got a little too friendly with a bottle of wine and was being sick, son of mine, looked after him, cleaned him up, and checked on him during the evening so that he knew he was o.k.
Your daughter sounds amazing, i wouldn't know where to start.
