Default So hot here

Hi All,
Sorry I have not been here for a while

The weather here has been so hot, we have had high 30's and low 4o's for nearly a week now. Was cooler today 25c, but it due to warm up again next week. Monday 35c, Tuesday 37c.

There have been many bushfires up in the hills, some have been diliberatly(sp) lite, (crazy people) only one house has been burnt and no cattle loses as yet.

We are on water restrictions too, can only water at the weekends, luckily I have a large water tank, and two smaller water butts, thats not too bad.

My chooks (hens) are all ok and laying well, they dont like the heat either, so I make sure they have plenty of water. They spend thier time in the bushes in the shade.

Hope you are all ok
Take care
Gill (Adelaide South Australia)

Hi Country Mouse! The weather sounds fabulous there. We have gales, floods and it is freezing cold! At least we have the summer to look forward to!

Keep us updated more often!!

Hi Countrymouse, I'm so jealous of your sunshine but not of the bushfires. I lost a boot at the allotment this morning due to all the mud from the gales and rain. Can't wait for everything to dry out a bit.

Please keep us updated

Send some rain this way, we certainly need it, its the worst draught in 10 years. Even bought a washing up bowl to use in the sink, so I can throw the water on the garden LOL.

Take care
Gill

Dear Gill

Weather extremes all over the place! Every time I want to go to veggie plot, it rains. When I'm at work, it's fine!! However, neither my wife or I are lovers of the heat(we would both rather be up to our bums in snow & ice!!!) so, with the greatest of respect, I'll stay here thank you

Hi Country mouse

Hope you are bearing up in the temperatures. My friend lives in Melbourne and they have bushfires around at the mo, which must be a bit scary. I understand that there are storms in Northern Territory - plenty water there!?

Our winter hasn't happened yet, people were wearing shorts until mid November round here, but is getting a little colder now. Looks like we'll have to learn to live with changing weather patterns.

Said friend sent us some Western Australian wildflower seeds this Christmas, so perhaps they will grow in our green and pleasant land! Will keep you posted.

hope you and your garden/chooks manage ok. Keep in touch.
