My place is electric only and although storage heaters keep me warm, I do miss the comfort of sitting in front of a real fire.

So earlier this year I searched online for ideas to make my place cosier and found a DVD from Light the Box - The ultimate traditional log fire DVD & contemporary gas fireplace styles on DVD

On the back of the DVD it states "A revolutionary use of your television. Transform the atmosphere of your your living space. Simply....Light The Box!

A stunning selection of traditional and contemporary firestyles. Enhance social gatherings or just relax to the sight and sounds of dancing flames.

12 different firestyles featuring: 6 traditional and contemporary firestyles."

I had previously thought of buying a contemporary flat screen fireplace, but as I had a LED TV/DVD I decided to try the DVD first. I'm really pleased I did, because I always select the traditional fire displays. If I've just got in and/or I'm feeling cold I select a roaring fire, with the logs spitting and stuff. Then once I've warmed up and feeling cosy, I change it to a traditional calming log fire.

There's nothing so calming as the sight & sound of an open fire crackling away - wouldn't be without ours...hope the log man turns up on the weekend!

2 weeks to go, We will have a log fire while in Spain, and among other purposes, our Christmas dinner gets cooked by it.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
