Smallholding courses anywhere?

These are in The GYO magazine not been on them so no clue what they are like this is a smallholding/butchery course

Have you tried the agricultural depts of Derby College and Nottingham Uni?

I'd google smallholder courses, and agricultural courses and see what other stuff comes up.

If anyone else wants to know, omlet.co.uk do a keeping chickens course for �15 - which i have found to be the cheapest around.

You could try getting hold of a copy of Country Smallholder Magazine - it's packed with articles and info on everything useful. I've been a subscriber to it for over a year now, (ok I'm dreaming of when I win the Lottery

) and find it extremely useful. Sorry if I've broken any rules by mentioning a rival publication

but not being in your area, and having not been on any courses, (yet!) I can't recommend anything.

Try your local Association of Smallholders. They do all sorts of courses and are a friendly and helpful bunch of people.

I think if you are wanting to be a smallholder it doesn't matter whether you take a course or not.........you will still become a smallholder and learn as you go!
