  • Slow Food?

    When we visited Tuscany a couple of years ago, I stumbled across the following sign (I think in San Gimignano);

    At the time, I thought the term, 'Slow Food' was just one of those lost in translation moments.

    However, it would appear that may not have been the case...

    Slow Food International | good, clean and fair food

    We didn't stop as we were charging through, but I partly wished we had now.

    Ever heard of it - the movement that is, not the restaurant.

    Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

      What a brilliant idea. To catch a phrase like that

        Remember reading about it in a mag a few years ago, it's been going for ages in Italy and every now and again somebody tried to get it up and running over here as a kind of anti Micky D's thing. Am all for it, food should be enjoyed at leisure.

        Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

        Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

            I've subscribed to Taste Italia for a few years - they are big supporters of the Slow Food Movement. It was started in direct response to McDonalds opening by the Piazza di Spagna!

              I attended a Slow Food tasting session at the Glasgow Good Food show a couple of years ago - it was excellent, thought-provoking, and tasty!

                Yes, they've been around for a long time. One good reason to live here
