I'm always up for a little light displacement activity!!!

Work from home so it is seriously hard to concentrate if I've no immediate chronic deadlines. Like now!

Been good today, haven't looked at all until lunchtime and now I'm justifying a long lunch by the fact at least I'm at my desk and haven't gone to the pub like some of my colleagues!

Afternoon tea break from edging the grass. Taken three days so I reckon I have earned a rest. Advantage of being unemployable I suppose!

Glad to say (disgustingly big smirk!) that I took early retirement last July. Me time's me own, ladies and gents. But you do need something to keep you going, don't you?

I do try and skive as much as I can! Mmmm not done much recently, must do some more!
Having said that I said to a friend last week - I'm not skiving, I'm dossing....she replied I'll put on your gravestone "Bernie was an excellent dosser, not a skiver!" LOL!!

Wondered how so many of you managed to stay on line for so long during the day.

And as Flummery says, early retirement can be a wonderful thing.

Wish I had time to skive off on the vine at work, but we are too busy, with too few staff and little chance of much improvement short term! Mind you, prhaps one day when I get a bigger branch with more staff and can actually operate as a Manager instead of trying to be the Store Manager, and Sales assistant, and fitter, and cycle mechanic!

Believe me Snadger, you dont want to work in my store atm, today there were 4 of us in (1 texted in that he wasnt coming in cos he was hung over and stuck in Manchester, grr, wait till I see him tomorrow!), and at one time we had a lady turn up 1 1/2 hours late for an appointment for her hands free car kit fitting, which meant one member of staff was in her car in the car park for 2 hours, another fit turned up on time which meant I had to go out and fit a rear mounted cycle carrier at the same time (1/2 an hour later, so now 2 of us fitting in the car park), the third member of staff was bringing a bike delivery (67 bikes) in at the same time, leaving the cashier to run the store, serve customers on cycles (upstairs), audio / sat nav, parts and roofbars (all downstairs), cover the till and answer the phone!

Is it any wonder I got a migraine by 4pm! I finally got my 'lunch' at 430pm today, absolutely starving and all I could do was to take some ibuprofen!

Mind you, when I get the 2 folks who've applied for the deputy manager's job interviewed and in place it should get a bit easier!
