  • Silly name and my juvenile mind...

watching the news last night and there was an interview with someone called.....

    .......................Major Dickie Head

Now it was probably a very serious news piece so why oh way didn't they call him Richard for heavens sake

Although, I do wonder how much he won on his bet

(He had a smirk all the way through his interview and as a Major in the army you can't tell me that he didn't know what he was doing - very amusing)

I'm sorry but I started reading the post and I don't know if it's because I've had a drink but I read the name and started laughing. Still if you talk to any private in the army then you will find that most of the majors are referred to as Dickie Head or something similar.

    Is this the bloke?

I just read the article properly and when I got to where he was referred to as Major Head all I could think of was that would be a great porn star name.

Many years ago as a lowly 19yr old very niave clerk, I had to deal with a Reverend Dick Growmore and always struggled when speaking to him on the phone because my so supportive work colleagues would be sniggering in the back ground.

My mum was going to marry Mr Pratt but thought better of it becuase she would have become Mrs A Pratt.

Yes thats him - I'd recognise that smirk anywhere. Looking bemused my ar*e! He was trying not laugh all the way through. LOL

And please don't apologise - I've been giggling about it on and off ever since seeing the interview. Thank heavens theres still someone in the BBC with a sense of humor

I used to work as a Customer Don't Care advisor for a mobile phone company a few years ago and one of the first things you do when you're bored is look for rude surnames. You'd be surprised how many there are. All I can say is if you ever watch an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Firefly/V look out for Brian Wankum. It's not that unusual a name surprisingly!

This is a bit more of an unfortunate name given the article that he's writing.
