  • Shhh...but I think Spring may be starting!!!

Had a little inspection of the veg and herb bed- and guess what.....the chives have started to grow again!!!!

Must be the bit of warm sunshine we had at midday for the past couple of days that's kick started them.
Also Bertha is definitely nesting- she's been sat on 2 eggs ( and a wooden one) since Sunday!!!!

Getting a bit excited now- so best get on with the ironing to calm me down

Has anyone else got fruit/veg/herbs taking a peek at the world???

Maybe just a tentative step here too. The 4 inch thick ice that covered my lake has disappeared, this morning its about 8 or 9 degrees, a quick inspection of my veggies yesterday showed definate growth over the onions and garlic beds, and the parsnip leaves that have been flattened by the frost are now once again upright and looking parsnip'ish.
The long range weather shows me I'm not dropping under 6 degrees again over the next 12 days, so, possibly, just maybe, a bit of spring has sprung.

Lovely sunny day here - you might think spring's coming - till you try and dig. It's so frozen you could bend the tines of your fork!

We've got some kind of bulb coming up at the front of the house - haven't been in the back garden for a while. Will have a look at the weekend.

No sign of spring here, either. Though for some reason my bonsai trees (outdoor) have not gone dormant this winter and are still covered in green leaves.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
