  • Sartorial Opinions, Please!

    I need some opinions.

Continuing my vintage dress obsession, I want to make this dress

    Using this for the skirt

And one of these for the bodice, fox faces being my current favourite.

What do you think? (I'm a size 10,with fair skin, blue eyes and auburn hair if that helps)

I like the third one best - I think the balance of colours works best - the forward facing foxes is very dark.

I like the fox faces of the 2nd pic

AD I thought the foxes might have been a little dark too, but they are so cute.

I only have a few hours to make up my mind......the fabric is on sale in USA, and it finishes today.

Buy the facestuff too and make a bag from it.

Number three for me! Cool, classic elegance. I'm afraid the foxy prints both make my eyes slid about. (Sorry!)

Number 3 for me too. Could you put the faces at the waist?
I can't really imagine any of them made up as I have no idea of the size of the pattern - and I'm very much an unpatterned person anyway

Top one skirt, bottom one bodice. Face one belt and bodice neck trim. Deffo!

I like the fox faces for themselves. But I like number 3 for the dress.

I think the idea of making a bag out of number 2 is good.

                      Excellent idea......

I'm not much of a 'pattern' person myself, but I'm feeling more confident now I've slimmed down.

Just tried to order the fabrics (1 yd of each of the bodice fabrics, plus the skirt fabric 4 yds) but ebay is being a total pain and not combining the postage so I've had to contact the seller in South Dakota - who is probably still in bed! - to get them to invoice me.

That ^^ or make the whole thing from No3,with the collar matching the backing (white ?),waist band matching the blue & hem band matching the grey.

#3 is the design I'm least keen on.

                          This is the whole series

The swirl design of #3 is not as small as I first thought. The fox faces are about 5cm tall

                            Love it.
Love the fabric you have chosen for the skirt. For the bodice I think I would go for the third one and definitely the foxes faces for a bag.
You'll look fab. I'm too vintage myself to wear vintage but if I could, I would!

But if I were to chose one from the stack to make the bodice from it would be the one with the little lemon/cream design.
