How sad. At times I found him irritating, but even so, he was an icon of radio and TV.

So sad to hear of his passing. I wasn't aware that he was ill. He had a great sense of humour. R.i.P. Terry.

Desperately sad. The voice of many a childhood. I used to crack up at the things he said and got away with!

So sad. I met him many years ago. Such a generous, genuine bloke.

I never met him. But it feels like I've lost an old friend. He made me laugh. Janet & John story's will never be the same read by anyone else.
                  Goodbye Sir Terry RIP.

That was a shock. I didn't even know he'd been ill.

                      A big loss to broadcasting.

A multi-talented broadcaster, but his wry, irreverent Eurovision commentary is what I'll most remember him for.

I had the honour of meeting him twice. The first one when he came back from the Eurovision Song Contest when Cliff Richard sung "Congratulations". They were both in the VIP bit where my brother-in-law was going to to appear. Although Cliff was a pop icon at the time he had about 8 fans round him, Terry was inundated.

The second time was about 6 years ago when I went on the TOGS cruise. It was probably inevitable that some of us would end up in a lift with someone of the BBC crew. I was in the lift with Terry, and several of the others. I didn't push anything just held a sensible conversation with them and breathed a sigh of relief when they got out before me and hoped I hadn't made a complete idiot of myself.

I will miss his banter he was fun. The most memorable one was probably when he said he was worried about playing the wrong version of "Beautiful Souths" version of "Don't Marry Her".

                          RIP Terry Wogan

RIP Terry. I really loved his TV and radio shows. My son used to call him uncle Wogan even though he never met him, because we religiously watched his show in the week. I was not quit old enough to be a TOG or young enough to be a TYG but I always listened to his breakfast show on the radio
