I have a favourite large ceramic pot but winter before last it split in two. I made a repair but it sprung again this winter. In the garage I have "hard as nails" "gripfiller" and silicone filler". Would any of these work?

hiya, Cant say that i have tried fixing them, if the inside is not glazed and a rough surface, think I would try joining by spreading with a sand cement mix and see how it goes ! i -

I have a large ceramic pot that was split too, Brengirl - it was superglued together and held safe by some wires wrapped round tightly as well.Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?Comment

OK then. I will give it a go. If I am not around for a couple of days just assume I have become more attached to my pot.Comment

Whichever adhesive you use, I think you will need to use wire under the rim of the pot and probably round the base to reinforce your repair. Good luck!!Comment

You could always do a fibreglass mat repair inside. You used to buy these kits from halfords for car body repair some years ago, but not sure if they're still around. But if they are, that would work, it sets solid. Some resin and hardener with some fibreglass matting.
