At our local council cemetery office, the gravediggers and gardeners have a small office. I nip down there every now and then and acquire tubs that big tree saplings have been in. These are great as they have ready prepared holes in the base and are an ideal size for growing spuds in. These would normally be put in the skip so I am recycling them, I also give them to others as I am getting a collection.
So why not nip to the council offices or phone them and ask.
I also did this over old wheelie bins. They delivered a few and we use them as compost bins and water butts, and they didnt charge me
